I'm moving again, trying to do a complete re-haul. The day having only 24 hours is not helping.
The bad news:
I'm moving back to Wordpress. Ha! and you thought I was a google-fanboy.
The good news:
I'm moving to Wordpress. The latest version of wordpress 2.7 is almost out. A brief guide of the new features. Courtesy: elder sibling.

I'm not giving the link out just yet because the site needs serious work. If you do manage to find it(not too difficult), check it out and leave your suggestions. I appreciate criticism. Seriously you can say whatever you please in the comments section and I won't block it. This is your chance, the one post where i won't block a word of your comments :).

I'm not apologizing for not being regular in posting because:-

• blogging gurus have told me this is just lame and not bloggesional. come to think of it, it's annoying. "I'm sorry, been busy lately, haven't got the time to post, but fear not I will be regular in the future...yada yada yada..". This sort of shit is regularly spewed out by bloggers who have 3 people following their blogs, bloggers who think the world is going to end if they don't continue their blogging and bloggers who seriously need a life. While it might seem that i fit all 3 categories perfectly, i'm seriously trying to make the shift.
• I have been doing constructive stuff in the meantime yaw! It's not like I've been shooting ducks and thinking of jumping sheep (I consider tv-serial watching an integral-sacred-required part of life, so that doesn't qualify).
• I'm designing my wordpress theme right from the letter. As serious a pain in the ass as it is, it's an eye-opening learning experience for web-designing-geeks - a niche i tend to like to be a part of. There are a gazillion things to look into: seo, typology, browser support, view layouts, css file structures, file formats(how big/small an image you require),design(you bet smarty-pants)... all of which i sincerely plan to blog on. So excuse me for doing my homework.
• Being a proponent of blogardiness, requires you to be... well blogardy... at times....

Greetings! I took a really long hiatus in posting. But while all of you were patiently waiting, for my oh.. so precious pearls of wisdom, I've been wading through scores and scores of code/css/templates/color-combos/images/icons.....It got to a point where I was waking up wondering why my blankets weren't text-aligned to the center...

The result of all that is the culmination of two new blogs. Trust me I have learned A LOT about blogger and blogging from this. My old site www.kaushikgopal.com is still functional, but i'll probably collapse it in a month or two and redirect it here.

Why the need to park your bottom in a new place you ask (In fact two new places) ?

Couple of reasons:-

• 
  I learned recently that if i had to renew my hosting plan at netfirms.com I had to pay a whooping 120$. Sorry sir I like to ride with the freebies.
  



• 
  I've moved from Wordpress to Blogger.Do a google on this and you'll see there are umpteen number of posts on BG to WP but not the other way round. In an nutshell Wp requires too much work, and the domain-hosting was also an issue.
  


• 
  Google owns Blogger...Google is smart...Google is great... all Hail Google ! With this move i can now officially pronounce that I'm one of the strongest prospects for an online Google mascot. Seriously, every single online tool i use is Google endorsed or Google-owned. If Google ever goes down, I'll be sent to the stone age.
  



• 
  I really needed to separate my geeky side from my personal life. Many claim it to be difficult, but Ha... that's precisely why i sought out to park my bottom in two places.
  



• 
  I can still use blogger and have my very own personalized URL. blog and glog are subdomains of kaushikgopal.com. But more on this sometime later in my geek logs.
  

Yup that's about it for now. I've put in quite a lot of time in getting these pesky templates up. Feel free to drop in praise/comments/curses. I'm always ears.

I plan on putting a detailed road-map on how i got everything done. Will post on that as well.

The process of creating my template is an on-going one. So I decided to go ahead and deploy this "skeleton" version. Ill keep you posted on the new and cool stuff, you can achieve with blogger, as and when i try it out myself. But all that goes strictly in my glog.
